Un flusso di acqua unisce due gruppi umani distinti: … il tema del tempo e del succedersi delle generazioni. Un bozzetto del 1988 (di cui la presente fontana è un ingrandimento), è all´origine di una fontana monumentale “Passaggio”, realizzato dall´artista nel 1996 in travertino romano. L´opera, commissionata dalla casa farmaceutica GlaxoSmithKline, si trova nella sede centrale dell´azienda a Bruxelles, in Belgio.
Fountain. Generations – Bronze, 1999
A water stream unites two different groups of human beings: …the theme of time and the succession of generations. A 1988 sketch (of which this fountain is an enlargement) is at the origin of a monumental fountain, “Passaggio” (i.e., Passage) created by the artist in 1996 from Roman travertine. The work, commissioned by the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, can be found at the company’s headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Figure ascendenti. Una fiamma reagisce ai colori della natura: luce, alberi, terra … Un´opera molto simile a questa è inserita a Roma nell´architettura moderna di una sede aziendale. A Roma, in precedenza, era stata esposta all´ingresso di una chiesa romanica; a Bonn, nella sede dell´ex Parlamento tedesco.

Ascending figures. A flame reacts to the colours of nature: light, trees, earth… This work closely resembles the one that can be found in Rome, in the modern architectural context of a company’s headquarters. Previously, this same work had been exhibited at the entrance of a Romanesque church in Rome, and in the building of the former German Parliament in Bonn.

Gruppo di figure in cammino – Voci dal mondo è stata collocata in questo giardino dopo essere stata esposta per un periodo di sei mesi a Praga3, nella piazza “Malherovy sady”. L´opera che ha una sua gemella piú piccola in Toscana, è stata realizzata per il progetto ideato dall´artista e sostenuto dall´UNESCO Siti e Cittá Italiane appartenenti al Patrimonio Mondiale e da altre importanti istituzioni tra cui Il Consolato della Repubblica Ceca a Firenze, l´Ambasciata italiana e l´Ambasciata tedesca a Praga.

Group of figures walking – Voci dal mondo (Voices from the Wold) was placed in this garden after having been exhibited for six months in Prague3, in Mahlerovy sady square. This work has a smaller twin in Tuscany and was created for the project conceived by the artist and supported by the Italian Towns and Sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List and other important institutions, including the Consulate General of the Czech Republic for Tuscany, and the Italian and German Embassies in Prague.
